A lunar eclipse occurs when the earth overshadows the moon and temporarily blocks the light reflected from the moon. This lunar eclipse is penumbral, which means a faint shadow of the earth is visible on the edge of the moon, and so its effect is more subtle.
Lunar eclipses or big full moons are times of completion, culmination, and closure. This eclipse is a south node eclipse, meaning that the moon is within 18 degrees of the south node. The South Node represents our individual and collective past and is often seen as a drain or release point. A moon south node combination can pull us back to the past and highlight unresolved emotional issues for healing and resolution. With Mercury retrograde in the mix, we might be thinking about the past or ruminating over past events.
The Moon and South Node are in Scorpio, an intensely emotional sign associated with power, control, and transformation. Pluto, ruler of Scorpio and mythological Lord of the Underworld, symbolises that which is hidden; deeply buried secrets, hidden agendas, issues of trust and betrayal as well as hidden resources and buried treasure. Pluto is squaring the nodal axis, magnifying its influence.
The Sun, always opposite the Moon at a full moon, is in Taurus. The Taurus Scorpio axis is the axis of resources, Taurus representing physical, manifest actual things and Scorpio more subtle inner power and resourcefulness as well as collective or shared resources such as stock markets, joint finances, or the resources of the earth. With Uranus conjunct the Sun, expect some volatility in collective resources such as financial markets or seismic activity. On a personal level Uranus exposes often shocking truths and with piercing clarity awakens us to the truth of our being.
This eclipse supports us to let go of any thing or anyone who is draining our energy and is not aligned with our truth, to let go of our past stories which define us in a limited way, to reclaim and harness our inner power and resources so that we might create and manifest anew.
A full moon occurs when the Sun and Moon are opposite each other and the light of the Sun fully illuminates the Moon. Full moons are a time of things coming to light and represent a time of maturity, completion or closure. This full moon falls on the Aries Libra axis, the axis of self and other, Aries being ruled by Mars and Libra being ruled by Venus. At this full moon the spotlight shines on: How do we asset ourselves in relationships? Where do we give our power away to others? Where do we over compromise? Where do we …Continue reading →
The last new moon of 2022 marks a turning point in the 3 year process we have been experiencing since January 2020, when Saturn was conjunct Pluto in Capricorn followed by Saturn squaring Uranus. The last 3 years would have been unimaginable prior to 2020; a global pandemic, lockdowns, high levels of control on the public, limitation to freedoms and movement, constraints, volatile financial markets and governments, war in Ukraine and abuse of power by governments. Unsustainable systems and structures lacking integrity are collapsing. These aspects are now loosening and their influence is waning. The Capricorn new moon on 23rd …Continue reading →

The Full Moon in Taurus opposite the Sun in Scorpio is a powerful and potentially game changing Total Lunar Eclipse. Lunar Eclipses occur when there is a special alignment of the Sun, Moon and Earth such that the Earth’s shadow falls across the Moon and temporarily blocks its illumination by the Sun. The Sun, Mercury and Venus are conjunct the South Node all in Scorpio, the sign of power, control, …Continue reading →
